The company Bravarsko poduzeće Čelik was formed by the expansion of a locksmith workshop whose main activity was the design, repair and maintenance of steel fences and gates. In the beginning, the company only employed 3 workers. Expansion in the construction sector after the year 2000 was favourable for the company, so it began the construction of a new production hall of 2500 m2 in 2006. This significantly expanded the opportunities for conducting larger and more demanding projects, and the manufacturing and heavy steel constructions began. In addition to this, the production of PVC systems and insulated glass began. The number of employees at the end of 2015 amounted to 20 workers (based on the number of work hours). The main competitive advantage of the company lies in the making of demanding and large steel structures. For such production, significant experience, relatively expensive equipment, a large enough production hall and educated and trained labour force is necessary.
Short description of the project
Project activities relate to:
a) The purchase of specialized equipment for the processing of metals;
b) The purchase of IT equipment;
c) Promotion and visibility of the project.
The purpose of this project is to satisfy the demand of the market by expanding existing capacities. With excellent quality and professionalism, we have brought ourselves into a situation that has caused a great demand on the market for our products. In fact, previous experience with the production of steel structures pointed to a significant demand of the business sector for high-quality demanding steel structures, therefore, the purchase of specialized equipment for the processing of materials will increase our competitiveness in this segment. In addition, an investment in IT equipment will increase the possibilities of designing demanding structures, which will strengthen our competitive advantage on the market even more.
Goals and expected results of the project
The goal of this project is the expansion of the production of steel structures through the purchase of special equipment for processing metal. In addition, the goal of the project is to purchase computer equipment that will serve to improve the design of steel structures. The implementation of the project will increase the number of employees, but also the competitiveness of the company, which will lead to an increase in revenue.

The EU’s share in the financing of the project amounts to 181,100.00 HRK
